About our project
While in Honduras, we conducted an individual Photovoice project in which 18 boys from the foundation learned how to tell their own stories through the use of DSLR cameras. We taught basic photography composition and other techniques, as well as the importance of taking photos with a purpose in order to spark discussion, empower the participants, and hopefully affect positive social change. The students participated in formal classes, group discussions, writing assignments, and photography excursions. At the end of our program, the photographs were displayed in an exhibitions in San Pedro Sula, as well as an exhibition within the walls of ProNiño.
